  • The hamlet that is now the winery and connected houses was possessed by the devil. The wealthy family (nobile) that owned this area had a connection to the Vatican and called in an exorcist to “chase the devil away” and hence: Scacciadiavoli (literally translated to chasing away the devils).
  • There are other details to this story, like that the exorcist used local wine during the ceremony, making the name an even more appropriate fit for the winery.
