Italian Portfolio

Cantine Povero

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • Leader in quality for price: introducing excellent Italian wines at an approachable price point.
  • Family Tradition: generational winemaking with family vineyard relationships dating back to 1837.
  • Sustainability Leader: All vineyards on their property are certified organic, solar panels are installed on the roof of the winery, all water used for production is extracted from an ancient family well, they are actively planting trees and purchasing forest to achieve a 1:1 ratio of forest to vineyards.

Castelfeder

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • Value-driven Pinot Grigio created by Castelfeder Winery in Alto Adige.
  • Aromas of apples are prevalent and incidentally, it is common to grow apples in the valleys near vineyard lands in Adige, where the majority of this wine is grown.

Ilatium Morini

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • The seven-pointed star on the label and capsule represents the seven brothers and cousins that came together in 1992 to purchase their first five hectares of vineyards and build their winery. They now own 40 hectares of vineyards.
  • The winery name is a reference to the historical Ilasi tribe and the current commune.  The Veneto region has been inhabited and has produced viticulture since the Bronze age.

Rivetto

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • Less competition, more comprehension – diversity in nature and the opposite of monoculture is what Enrico touches on most in his Credo.
  • Rivetto aims to be custodians for the future – The land is “not owned but preserved and passed on.”
  • Rejection of rigidity – listening to the land and learning, creating, and improving based on what you observe.
  • First and only certified Demeter producer in Barolo and Barbaresco.

Ventisei

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • Eline’s mother, Virginie Saverys, converted one of the most historic names in Vino Nobile to a 100% biodynamic property and increasing quality every step of the way.
  • Carrying on the legacy of a badass women winemaker family.
  • Made with grapes from biodynamic vineyards within Avignonesi’s property (Eline is the daughter of the owner of Avignonesi).

Fratelli Ottoni

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • Emilia Romagna is a region known throughout Italy for great wine and upbeat music.
  • The project Fratelli Ottoni was created to enhance the symbiosis between music and wine typical of this region.
  • This is the goal of Fratelli Ottoni—individual excellence that joins together toward a common symphony.

Borgo del Tiglio

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • First to establish a single vineyard in Friuli in 1982: Friulano.
  • One of the first to begin working with light use of French oak and battonage in Friuli.
  • Rich, complex, not overly hedonistic, top heavy, balmy, etc.
  • Highly allocated wines with tremendous scores.

Fantinel

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • The crown jewel of the Fantinel family wineries in terms of quality, production, and the site of the Fantinel family’s highest elevation vineyards.
  • Purchased in 1998 to continue to focus on acquiring coveted vineyards to produce some of the best wines in the world with respect to the Collio Orientali’s unique microclimate, terroir, and traditions.
  • The young and talented winemaker Gabriele Tami (who studied under Tybor Gal) has received numerous awards, including the title “Wine Master” when La Roncaia was named one of the top 100 wineries in the world by the Drinks Business in 2020.

Podere Salicutti

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • The first certified organic estate in Montalcino. Francesco Leanza was an early advocate for natural winemaking.
  • After Francesco’s 25-year tenure as owner and winemaker, the property has been owned and lovingly cared for by the Eichbauer family since 2016.
  • Some of the finest Sangiovese in the region.

Soldera

KEY SELLING POINTS:

  • The estate produces a single wine called: Toscana IGT 100% Sangiovese Soldera® Casse Basse®. An incredible Sangiovese with a cult following.
  • Soldera uses 100% natural farming and winemaking methods. All grapes are harvested by hand and individually inspected, then all winemaking is done with minimal intervention and aging occurs in their cellar 14m underground, away from noise, heat, and all other disturbances.
